While the majority of your customers might be on Twitter or Facebook, Linkedin is an important asset, especially if you’re in the market of B to B, it is also the largest and most active professional networking platform, so that’s a lot of untapped potential. Because of this, having a Linkedin Company Page gives you the opportunity to carve out a space for your brand and offer job seekers the chance to find out more about you. Here are a few simple ways to help kick-start your Linkedin profile.
Firstly – make sure your company page has a profile picture, pages with profile pictures get much more engagement than those without. Linkedin even handily give you the exact measurements to make sure that your profile picture looks professional. While we’re on the subject of imagery, you can also add in a profile banner, again Linkedin provide the dimensions for this and it gives you a bit more wiggle room with creativity.
Once you’re looking refreshed, make sure to get yourself a snappy About us page. Try not to exceed 2,000 words but do try to tell visitors everything they need to know about your brand, use accessible language and make sure to include all the important info, such as who you are, where you are and what you offer. While it is important to stand out, there is a time and a place for everything and Linkedin is no different, share a meme or two on your Twitter or Facebook pages, but try to be a bit more grown up on Linkedin.
Next up, make sure you have content for people to engage with. To make your page successful, regularly update them with articles, videos and photos to promote your business or brand ideas. Once you’re set up with these things, it’s also a nice tough to have a few endorsements on your page. You can ask employees to connect with their own profiles and encourage them to write endorsements for each other and the company. You can also get your associates and customers to do this too. Just make sure you’re nice to all these people, especially if they’re going to be using their own experiences of you to promote you online.
Another great thing about Linkedin is you can keep tabs on what your competitors are doing with their social media pages. This is always useful as you can see their content and if you’re starting out, model your own on theirs – note, we do not support plagiarism!
Once these steps are completed and you’re into a routine, keeping your Linkedin presence up shouldn’t be a problem, but if it is, it is something that we can help with. For more tips on social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram management, speak to one of our team.
