Ignyte have teamed up with Visit Sidmouth, in collaboration with our clients, Visit Devon, to launch a new website to enhance the visitor experience when visiting Sidmouth. The new site, which sits as a micro site on the existing Visit Devon platform, is user friendly and features up to date information about the town’s accommodation and attractions, as well as events taking place in and around Sidmouth. An integrated book now service also allows visitors to check the availability of Sidmouth’s accommodation and book rooms without having to leave the platform.
Ian Barlow, Chair of Sidmouth Town Council, said: “Sidmouth Town Council is proud to support our local tourism industry and, as promised, has now delivered on our new digital marketing package.
“The Town Council does not benefit financially from the business rates you pay but has stepped up and provided this new opportunity to help the town prosper. The participation of local businesses in this new platform will allow us to continue to invest in tourism and the future promotion of our town.”
The web team at Ignyte will be managing and maintaining the site, much like we do for the Visit Devon and Visit North Devon and Exmoor sites. Our team will also be managing social media marketing for Visit Sidmouth, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Cllr Barlow continued: “The Council will continue to invest with our marketing partner, Ignyte, to help unlock the full potential of the town as a destination. We cannot predict what the future holds, but by working together in advertising our town as far and wide as possible, it will ensure that Sidmouth punches well above its weight, which can only benefit us all and help ensure a vibrant economy.”
Louise Cole, Chair of the Tourism and Economy Committee on Sidmouth Town Council, said: “Sidmouth Town Council is supporting our tourism economy, maximising its appeal as an excellent destination to attract new markets for a tourism economy that is not just resilient but thriving. Sidmouth has something incredible to offer visitors, thanks to its stunning location, but its potential has remained untapped. Our specific high end destination identity and promotion of it aims to position Sidmouth where it needs to be to give us the competitive edge that is needed now more than ever and which places Sidmouth as a quality coastal tourism destination.”
